Powerline Hemp is a business started by father and son - James and Michael Pelley - in Fountain City, Wisconsin. As a family, we created this business to help people achieve their greatest health, just as CBD has helped us achieve ours. It is our mission to ensure that our plants, our products, and our customers are given the utmost respect and care in all facets of the process from farm to consumption. This is our story.
FROM PAIN TO POWER
Michael Pelley
In 2018, Michael suffered a traumatic brain injury from a snowboarding accident in the midst of his last semester of college. The injury was so severe and the swelling in his brain so heavy that Michael could no longer complete his schoolwork. All the medications that doctors prescribed wouldn’t take away the pain of his migraines, light sensitivity, or inability to concentrate. There seemed to be no easy solutions, and the path to graduation was looking more and more grim as weeks passed. Desperate for answers, Michael reached out to friends and family for advice. When a close friend recommended a CBD tincture based on its success with his wife’s multiple sclerosis, a solution was born.
After the first dose, Michael felt almost immediate relief in both pain and swelling. After two days of treatment, his sensitivity to light was completely gone. After one week of consistent treatments, he was reading and writing papers again in his classes. And after just two weeks, Michael made a full recovery with no side effects or lingering conditions. The results were so shocking and so personal that Michael wanted to share his story and bring hope that people in his community and beyond could find relief from their own pain and suffering. It wasn’t the accident that ended up changing his life but the unlikely medicine that came to him in the wake of hopelessness.

In 2018, James was looking for his next big project in nature. As an avid conservationist, bee keeper, maple syrup producer, traditional bow hunter, and tree farmer, James sought to do something not only beneficial for his family farm but also for the residents in his community. Researching and reading about ideas for cash crops, James came upon new policies and information on hemp farming. This once traditional and now modern revolutionary idea sparked the potential for a new venture - hemp farming for therapeutic CBD. And hence, the birth of Powerline CBD.

THE PELLEY FAMILY FARM
Residing in the heart of the Midwest, our family farm was purchased by James’ parents, Inez and Milo Pelley, in 1962. Here they raised eight children while handing down an incredible legacy of life, love, and land stewardship.
The farm was developed into a tree farm in 1993 with the majority of the land bringing life to over 300,000+ trees. James took over the farm duties at that time and made it his mission to work on making the land an epicenter of conservation efforts - sustainable tree farming, maple syrup harvesting, honey bee hive keeping, and pesticide-free crops. What started as a vision for the family’s land became a personal philosophy of merit, character, and relationship with the land itself. This bloomed into powerful, eco-centric traditions and practices which could be passed on to the next generations of family to come.
From the long-time traditions of family meals sourced in nature, sustainable wood cutting in order to heat our homes in the winter, and now quality-focused hemp farming - our goal is to take care of the land as it continues to care for us.
